French Nail Colors

The base and the tip should be chosen together
A white tip changes how a pink base looks. Compare them as a pair instead of choosing a favorite bottle of each in isolation. A sheer base lets the natural nail influence the pink; a more opaque base creates a different starting point.
How sharp should the contrast be?
Crisp white makes the tip more distinct. Ivory or milky white can give a softer separation, depending on the product's coverage. For a colored French manicure, try a narrow red or blue tip before extending that color across a larger area.
Tip width matters too. A broad white band takes up more of a short nail, while a fine line leaves more base visible. Save a photograph with similar nail length and shape for your appointment. Flat swatches help with hue, but they can't preview the balance between the base and the tip.
